The most versatile packraft in our lineup, the Expedition is fully adaptable to a multi-week Alaskan traverse, van life in New Zealand, or lapping the local whitewater run.
The Expedition is a one boat quiver killer. Its adaptable performance allows for seamless transitions between backcountry traverses, traditional multi-day river trips, weekend getaways, and whitewater laps with friends. No other packraft offers a greater range of potential adventures.
The Expedition features a mid-volume hull with a center panel stern and moderately rockered bow, which optimizes tracking, speed, and performance across the broadest range of river conditions from flatwater to lightwater to whitewater. A backband and lace-in seat perfectly balance comfort, performance, and packability. Keep the build as light as possible, or add the optional patented 3-point thigh straps and whitewater footbrace for better performance in lightwater and whitewater.
The Expedition is only available in a Whitewater Deck or Removable Deck configuration. We recommend the Gnarwhal for similar uses and performance in a Self Bailer.
Whats New in 2025:
The Expedition receives only minor changes for 2025.
- The hull remains the same design and dimensions, but we've added an extra-large size standard from the Custom Lab.
- We've switched from the previous included 4-point thigh straps to a new lighter optional 3-point thigh strap system. They are lightweight, incredibly comfortable, easy to fit, and provide plenty of support for up to Class III/IV whitewater.
- The seat is the same design, but attaches via lacing to the side tubes rather than a toggle attachment to the floor. You can still attach a lap bag to the front of the seat.
The main difference between the 2024 and 2025 models is versatility and intended uses. The 2024 model was our flagship versatile and performance wilderness packraft. Instead, we offered the Classic for the more budget oriented and casual adventure packrafter. The Classic has been discontinued for 2025 because we felt that the Expedition offered better performance for people buying decked Classics and the Caribou could offer better performance for people buying open Classics.
The 2025 Expedition is offered without thigh straps for similar pricing as the 2024 Classic, or with thigh straps for similar performance and lower pricing than the 2024 Expedition. We think that's a win for everyone.

- Cargo Fly Zipper:
Our innovative Cargo Fly internal storage system comes standard on the Ranger. The Cargo Fly features an airtight zipper installed in the stern of the boat to allow you to store your gear inside the tubes. The system provides drier and more secure gear storage and improved paddling performance due to a lower center of gravity.
Internal Dry Bags may be purchased separately and are designed to work with the Cargo Fly system. The bags clip in place along each side of the tubes with a side release buckle and allow for better organization and weight balance than placing the contents of your pack loose inside the Cargo Fly. They also act as additional balanced air chambers to make it easier to get to shore in the event of a puncture.
